Privacy Policy

This app is built and operated by an independent developer. I take your privacy seriously and want to be straightforward about what data the app handles and why.

What the app does

Tend helps you keep track of your relationships — the people you know, your interactions with them, and details worth remembering. You enter all of this information yourself.

What data is collected

• Account identity:When you sign in, the app uses Apple's CloudKit to create an anonymous identifier. I do not collect your name, email address, or Apple ID.
• Content you create: Contacts, interactions, details, and opportunities you enter are stored so the app can function. This is your data — the app is just holding it for you.
• Subscription status: If you subscribe, billing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. I use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. I do not see your payment method, credit card number, or billing address.

What data is NOT collected

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No advertising identifiers
• No location data
• No access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or photos
• No data is sold to third parties — ever

Where data is stored

Your data is stored in a secure database hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Access to the database is restricted to the app's backend services.

AI and MCP access

The app offers an optional API that lets AI assistants (like Claude) read and write your contact data on your behalf. This is entirely opt-in — you must create an API key to enable it. You can revoke access at any time by deleting the key.

When you use this feature, your data is sent to the AI assistant you connect. That assistant's privacy practices are governed by its own provider (e.g., Anthropic for Claude).

Data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing privacy@tend.fyi. I will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Third-party services

• Vercel — hosting (Vercel Privacy Policy)

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, I will update this page and note the date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
