Terms of Service

Last updated: May 10, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Tend app. By using the app, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English because that's how it should be.

What the app provides

Tend is a personal correspondence app. You use it to keep track of the people in your life and your interactions with them. The app stores your data and makes it available to you across your devices.

Your account

You sign in using your Apple ID via CloudKit. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple account.

Your data

The content you create in the app — contacts, interactions, details, opportunities — belongs to you. I store it to make the app work, not to use it for anything else. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.

Subscriptions

Acceptable use

Use the app for its intended purpose. Don't use it to store illegal content, harass others, or attempt to interfere with the service. I reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

API and AI access

The app offers an optional API for AI assistants. If you enable it, you are responsible for how those assistants use your data. Don't share your API key with others.

Availability

I do my best to keep the app running smoothly, but I can't guarantee 100% uptime. The app may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond my control. I am not liable for any losses resulting from downtime.

Limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is.” I do my best to make it reliable and useful, but I make no warranties about its accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. If changes are significant, I will update this page and note the date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
